A Tribute to Dr. Larry J. Alexander

The Indiana School of Optometry was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Larry J. Alexander on April 16, 2016. 

Dr. Alexander was a 1971 graduate of the School, and in October 2015, received the Foley House Distinguished Alumni Award – the highest honor bestowed upon any alumnus/a by the IU School of Optometry.  Dr. Alexander made a profound impact on the field of optometry, and his absence will be felt by many across the profession.  The IU School of Optometry is proud to call Dr. Alexander an alumnus, and we are grateful for his many contributions to the School over the years.

To honor his memory, members of the Class of 1971 have established the Dr. Larry J. Alexander Memorial Scholarship Fund which will benefit aspiring optometrists at the IU School of Optometry.
