Optometry Private Practice Club

The IU School of Optometry Private Practice Club (OPPC) was founded in 2008 by Dr. Aaron McNulty and Dr. Ryan Gustus with guidance from founding faculty advisor and IUSO Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, Dr. Neil Pence. The OPPC provides IUSO students who are interested in optometric private practice with business information and training through guest speakers and workshops, supplementing and expanding on instruction IUSO students receive in the classroom.

Additionally, the OPPC has developed a unique educational resource to help students advance their business expertise. The club’s Business Resource Center (BRC) was one of first facilities at any optometry school devoted to the promotion of private practice optometry. Funded in large part by donations from Walman Optical and Soderberg Optical, the center offers books, CDs, and DVDs on numerous business and practice management topics.
