Biography

Dr. Ellie Crossman is a new clinical faculty member, joining the Contact Lens Service in Bloomington. After earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2023, she came to IUSO for a residency in cornea and contact lenses, where she trained extensively in specialty lens fitting, ocular surface disease management, and advanced anterior segment care. Following her residency, she served as a visiting faculty member from 2024-2025 before transitioning to her current role.

At IUSO, Dr. Crossman has provided patient care and clinical instruction in the contact lens, ocular surface disease, primary care, and student health clinics. She is deeply engaged in teaching and mentorship, having led workshops on scleral lenses, dry eye diagnostics, and advanced procedures such as intense pulsed light (IPL) and radiofrequency therapy.

Dr. Crossman has presented research and continuing education at national meetings, including the American Academy of Optometry and the Global Specialty Lens Symposium. She is the recipient of IUSO’s 2024 Resident of the Year Award and NECO’s Joseph and Judith Ann Feldberg Scholarship, reflecting her dedication to excellence in patient care, teaching, and scholarship.
