Biography

Dr. Stephanie Klemencic has returned to Bloomington as a clinical faculty member in the Primary Care Service, after a year as a visiting clinical professor. A 2005 graduate of IUSO, she went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at IUSO and later earned a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University. Dr. Klemencic is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Optometry and the American Academy of Optometry.

She brings more than 15 years of academic and clinical leadership experience, having taught at Illinois College of Optometry, Midwestern University Chicago College of Optometry, and Western University College of Optometry. Her teaching and clinical expertise spans ocular disease, pharmacology, systemic health, and interprofessional education.

Dr. Klemencic has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, presented nationally and internationally on topics ranging from ocular pharmacology to retinal disease, and served as a reviewer and consultant for national boards and accreditation councils. She is passionate about advancing clinical education, mentoring future optometrists, and providing high-quality patient care.
