Biography

Dr. Ciara Knapp joined the Indiana University School of Optometry (IUSO) in September 2025 as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She is currently involved in the clinical education of third-year optometry students, providing instruction and supervision in Primary Care Services at the Atwater Eye Care Center.

Prior to returning to her alma mater, Dr. Knapp completed a residency in ocular disease at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. During her residency, she concentrated on the diagnosis and management of corneal pathologies, a range of retinal conditions, and post-operative care.

Dr. Knapp plans to pursue Fellowship status with the American Academy of Optometry and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and Gas Permeable Lens Institute. In 2024, she was recognized with both the Alcon Scholarship Award and the Eschenbach Low Vision Award for her academic and clinical excellence.
